Helping men
with Hearing Loss
Reconnect
To actively raise awareness of men’s hearing health issues right across the community and to help change lives along the way.
We intend to achieve this by conducting neighborhood hearing checks, providing information on hearing loss and helping to identify no out of pocket expense treatment entitlements.
We are a team that is passionate about reconnecting men through helping them hear better.
Hearing loss is not well understood and treatment is often delayed by many years. Worryingly, untreated hearing loss carries some serious health risks which are largely unknown by those experiencing this condition.
Men’s Hearing Health are determined to change this through our community based activities.
Whilst this program specifically targets men as they are twice as likely to be experiencing hearing loss than women and far less likely to seek medical help, Men’s Hearing Health will help anyone in the household who may be experiencing hearing loss.
So please take advantage of our free community based activities if you, a loved one, or someone you know is experiencing hearing loss.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
We believe in helping as many people as we can receive
Hearing Loss treatment by removing the cost barrier involved in obtaining this treatment
Any form of damage to the inner ear which reduces the quality of sound the ear is able to detect is a form of hearing damage. Common causes are congenital conditions, disease and infection and prolonged exposure to high-noise environments.
A third of men aged 65 to 74 can be categorised as deaf and hearing impaired, while this rises to nearly 50% for those over 75 years old. The problem is that many feel unable to reach out and ask for help, resulting in a number of damaging knock-on effects which can have a long-lasting impact:

is common in those
who no longer feel able
or confident in their
communication

often results in
extended periods of
isolation and a reduced
chance of seeking help

can make processing and
interpretation hard for the deaf
and hearing impaired even after
a hearing aid is fitted

can result from hearing
disorders and this is thought
to be due to reduced
mental stimulation
